Glenn: 47 years – Royal Flying Doctor Service – South Eastern Section
I had both of my legs amputated after a flying accident in 1995.
As a bilateral below knee amputee I have exclusively used Barry Leech to service my prosthetic needs over the past twenty-one years.
I chose to access Barry Leech Prosthetics & Orthotics because of his extensive industry experience including several paralympic athletes from the Australian Institute of Sport.
As a military pilot at the time of my flying accident, I needed specialist assistance in my quest to return to the cockpit of an Army Black Hawk helicopter.
Barry and his professional team provided me with outstanding prosthetic support during my rehabilitation and the many years beyond.
The BLPO team’s efforts providing me with quality and most importantly dependable prosthetics have directly contributed to my success to subsequently requalify on military helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.
In doing so I became the first bilateral amputee pilot to have served in the history of the Australian Defence Force.
With Barry and his team’s ongoing support I have been able to continue working to the present time as a pilot, instructor, and flight examiner within the civil aviation industry. I have referred many people over the past years to Barry Leech Prosthetics & Orthotics and all of team have become much more than a service provider to me.
Barry and his team are truly stakeholders in my life journey – I wholeheartedly commend their services to anyone in need of professional prosthetic support.
